The State of Vietnam continues to show the cumbersome, limited effectiveness of the public sector and the widespread corruption of public servants. Yet, it has been endeavoring to renovate national governance in the direction of good governance to improve the quality of public services to meet the requirements of an increasingly high level of education and social life democratization. Since 2018, the Vietnamese government has been applying the Satisfaction Index of Public Administrative Services (SIPAS) to measure people’s satisfaction with administrative services. This fact has received full attention from scientists, and there have been many studies on this issue. Therefore, this study has explored the impact of good governance on people’s satisfaction with administrative services by employing some variables of the SIPAS scale, including five dependent variables, namely: accessibility; administrative procedures; civil servants’ ethics and capacity; the results of the procedure settlement; the reception and handling of comments, feedback, and recommendations; and an independent variable, namely the people’s satisfaction, to add more evidence to previous studies and enrich the research literature. This study has been conducted through a cross-sectional survey using an intentional sampling technique (n = 500). The multivariate linear regression analysis technique was applied to prove the hypotheses. According to the research findings, all independent variables have a positive and significant relationship with the dependent variable. They imply that good governance initially has positive and significant effects on the Vietnamese people’s satisfaction level.

This study meticulously explores the intricate interplay between sustainable tourism and the preservation of cultural heritage, focusing on how tourism practices can foster the protection and revitalization of cultural and ethnic traditions within diverse communities in Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam (Pan et al., 2018). The research problem centers on understanding how sustainable tourism contributes to cultural preservation and the economic upliftment of ethnic minority groups. The research aims to unveil how sustainable tourism can act as a catalyst for cultural exchange, economic development, and the safeguarding of natural and cultural assets, with a particular emphasis on the involvement and empowerment of ethnic minority communities in the tourism development process (Datta et al., 2015). Employing multivariate linear regression as its primary research method, the study rigorously analyzes case studies to draw correlations between sustainable tourism activities and their impacts on cultural preservation. The main findings reveal that sustainable tourism practices significantly contribute to protecting cultural heritage, enhancing community participation, and fostering responsible tourism policies. These practices not only support the economic sustainability of ethnic minority groups but also ensure the conservation of their unique cultural identities. The implications of this research are profound, offering valuable insights for policymakers and tourism practitioners aiming to harmonize cultural heritage conservation with community well-being. By advocating for the integration of community perspectives into tourism planning and policy formulation, this study underscores the potential of sustainable tourism to serve as a powerful tool for cultural and economic revitalization, highlighting its importance in the broader context of cultural heritage management and sustainable development (Gould, 2018).

Purpose: This study explores the impact of green tourism on the Hmong community in Lao Cai province, Vietnam, including their awareness of sustainable tourism principles and factors influencing their engagement. It aims to provide practical recommendations to enhance understanding and commitment to sustainable tourism, contributing to the existing knowledge and offering insights applicable to other regions and communities interested in promoting green tourism. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework for this research draws upon concepts and theories from sustainable tourism, community development, and environmental psychology, explicitly focusing on community participation and empowerment in tourism development. It explores the impact of the Hmong people's awareness, involvement in decision-making, and sense of ownership over green tourism initiatives on their commitment to participate in the green tourism model. Design/methodology/approach: This study employed a mixed-methods approach, a quantitative survey, to collect data from 200 Hmong individuals in Lao Cai province in early 2022. A thorough literature review accompanied the survey design, distribution, collection, and analysis of responses. By utilizing this approach, the research aims to comprehensively understand the Hmong community's awareness and commitment to participating in the green tourism model in Lao Cai province, Vietnam. Findings: The study's findings show that green tourism's environmental and sociocultural benefits positively influence the Hmong community's awareness and commitment to sustainable tourism practices. However, economic benefits were not significantly associated with public perception, indicating a greater emphasis on cultural heritage conservation than financial gains. These results highlight the significance of involving local communities in decision-making and offering tangible benefits to foster their active engagement in sustainable tourism initiatives. Research, Practical & Social implications: This study makes two significant contributions to the existing knowledge. Firstly, it provides a comprehensive understanding of the impact of green tourism on local communities, particularly the Hmong community in Vietnam. Secondly, it highlights the vital role of community participation in sustainable tourism development. The findings recommend policymakers' active involvement of local communities in decision-making and the provision of tangible benefits for their engagement in sustainable tourism practices, promoting their commitment to sustainable tourism. Originality/value: Being the pioneering study on this subject in Vietnam, this research holds a unique significance in raising awareness and fostering commitment among the Hmong community regarding their participation in green tourism within Lao Cai province. Furthermore, the study's findings can serve as a valuable resource for shaping policies and programs that actively involve the Hmong community in green tourism, leading to mutual benefits for the community and the local region.

Tourism is a very important part of Vietnam’s economy, and the country’s central highlands offer a lot of chances to grow tourism. However, due to the challenging terrain, remote location, and diverse ethnic populations, creating sustainable tourism in this area poses a significant challenge. To address this issue, our study employs quantitative research methodologies, including questionnaire surveys conducted with local stakeholders. Our research identifies cultural, economic, infrastructural, policy, and regulatory factors as critical drivers of long-term tourism growth in the region. The results show that sustainable tourism growth in Vietnam’s central highlands needs a complete plan that considers the area’s unique natural and cultural environment. In addition, our research gives policymakers and people in the tourism industry important information they can use to promote sustainable tourism development in this region.
