I am Francesca Lorenzini, a post-doctoral researcher with an AIRC fellowship at CIBIO (University of Trento, Italy) in the “Experimental Cancer Biology” laboratory of Professor Mione. Respectively, in 2017 and 2019, I obtained my BSc (Final grade: 110/110 cum laude) and MSc (Final grade: 110/110) in “Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology” and “Biomolecular Sciences and Technology” with specialization in cancer biology at the University of Trento. In 2020, I won a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship for a PhD position at AZELEAD (affiliated to the University of Montpellier), a biopharmaceutical company based in Montpellier (France). In February 2023, I obtained a doctoral degree in Cancer Biology from the University of Montpellier. My scientific research interest is cancer biology, with a special focus on applied research. I am interested in how malignant cells can change the tumour microenvironment (TME) to progress toward an aggressive and metastatic disease. Since I have been working in the scientific field, I have manipulated zebrafish as a cancer animal model. My Bachelor and Master’s internships and doctoral studies allowed me to learn many in vitro and in vivo techniques and to acquire experience in imaging acquisition and analysis using different types of microscopes and software.
