Professor Milad Masoud is a Professor of Water Resources affiliated with the Water Research Centre at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, as well as the Desert Research Centre in Egypt. With more than 28 years of academic and professional experience spanning these two leading regional institutions, he is regarded as a specialist in hydrology and water resources management. His research approach combines hands-on field hydrogeology with advanced computational tools. In particular, he applies Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and machine learning techniques to model groundwater aquifers and to assess and forecast flash flood risks in arid and semi-arid basins. His work also extends to water quality analysis, isotope hydrology, and the development of strategic frameworks for the sustainable management of non-renewable water resources. In addition to his technical contributions, Dr. Masoud is known for his involvement in environmental protection, particularly through his efforts in watershed management planning and natural disaster mitigation, reflecting his broader impact on advancing hydrological science across the Middle East and North Africa region.
