Dr. Martin Maier

Martin Maier works as scientist and technical head of laboratory at the Department of Soils and Environment (Heike Puhlmann) of The Forest Research Institute FVA Baden-Württemberg (Forstliche Versuchs- und Forschungsanstalt). Martin does research in plant ecology and ecosystem physiology with a focus on soil physical processes and trace gases. He cooperates with the Chair of Meteorology and the Chair of Soil Ecology of the university Freiburg on the current project 'Turbulence-driven pressure-pumping - from above the canopy into the soil. With Katerina Machacova from Czech Globe he works on transport processes in plants (Project "Methane and nitrous oxide emissions from Fagus sylvatica and adjacent soil").
