Martin Maier works as scientist and technical head of laboratory at the Department of Soils and Environment (Heike Puhlmann) of The Forest Research Institute FVA Baden-Württemberg (Forstliche Versuchs- und Forschungsanstalt). Martin does research in plant ecology and ecosystem physiology with a focus on soil physical processes and trace gases. He cooperates with the Chair of Meteorology and the Chair of Soil Ecology of the university Freiburg on the current project 'Turbulence-driven pressure-pumping - from above the canopy into the soil.
