Dr. Nicola Montano, M.D., Ph.D., is the Director of the Functional Neurosurgery Operative Unit at Gemelli University Hospital in Rome, Italy. He completed a neurosurgery residency (2008) and a Ph.D. program in neuroscience (2012) at Catholic University in Rome, Italy. In 2021, he obtained a Ministry of University and Research Neurosurgery Full Professor License. His main areas of interest are cranial and spinal neuro-oncology, epilepsy surgery, surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, neuropathic pain, and minimally invasive spine surgery. He is a member of the editorial boards of international, peer-reviewed journals in the field of neurosurgery and medical science. He is currently serving as a reviewer for numerous international scientific journals. He has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in international journals in the fields of neuro-oncology, spine surgery, and functional neurosurgery.
