Dr. Zengtao Chen is a full professor of mechanical engineering at University of Alberta. His research spans from materials modelling, heat transfer, stress analysis, materials characterization, and damage and fracture mechanics. He has published three books, more than 300 journal papers and numerous conference papers. He is a fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering. Many of his former students became academics in Canada and other countries.
