I'm currently studying for a PhD at the University of Warsaw, and I'm an academic staff member of the Institute of Health at Bule Hora University. I graduated with a BSc in medical laboratory science from Hawassa University and an MSc in medical microbiology from Haramaya University. I taught medical bacteriology, virology, mycology, immunology, molecular biology, principles of genetics, and microbiology courses for undergraduates in our institute and co-advised postgraduate students on their theses and seminars. My research interests are multidisciplinary, particularly in relation to infectious diseases, immunological defenses, molecular biology, host-pathogen interactions, cancer treatment, and drug and vaccine development. I have published more than 30 research articles in reputable international peer-reviewed journals. I am an editorial board member of the PLOS One journal and an active reviewer and certified peer reviewer at BMC Microbiology, Pediatrics, Heliyon, Infection, and Drug Resistance journals. I served as a clinical, postgraduate, and continuous education coordinator at the Institute of Health, Bule Hora University, from April 2022 to September 2025.
