Prof. Mohammed Alkahtani is a Professor in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Department, and Vice Dean of the Advanced Manufacturing Institute, King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He earned his B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from KSU, his M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL, USA), and his Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University (Loughborough, UK). He was the chairman of the Industrial Engineering Department, College of Engineering, KSU, for over 4 years (2014–2018). He was awarded the “Distinguished Professor Award” from the society of IEOM (International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management) for his dedication to Teaching, Learning, and Mentoring and Achievements in the field of Industrial Engineering in 2019. He has diverse expertise in the analysis, modeling, and design of manufacturing systems; supply chain and operations management; responsiveness measurement; and leanness and agility in manufacturing and supply chain.
