Tina Histing was appointed professor of trauma surgery at the Medical Faculty for the 2020/21 winter semester. She is also the new medical director and chief physician of the Clinic for Accident and Reconstructive Surgery at the BG Klinik Tübingen. She studied human medicine at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and at the Saarland University in Homburg. After studying medicine, she completed her specialist training and various additional training courses such as special trauma surgery, hand surgery, emergency medicine and physical therapy at the Clinic for Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery at the Saarland University Hospital. She completed her habilitation there in 2012 and was appointed adjunct professor in 2017. She also headed trauma surgery research at the Clinic for Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery in Homburg.
