Biography

Academic degrees and titles 2019 – PhD of agricultural sciences in nutrition and food technology, 2012 – MSc of food technology and human nutrition, 2010 – BEng of food technology and human nutrition. Scientific interests My scientific interests focus on the study of nutritional and non-nutritional determinants of health and diet-related diseases among various population groups. A particularly important area of my scientific and research activity is the analysis of dietary patterns (DPs) and lifestyle in the context of the occurrence of cancer. I am the co-author of an innovative approach in the analysis combining the identification of DPs and blood biomarkers in the form of Hybrid Dietary-Blood Inflammatory profiles, Metabolic-Hormone, and Vitamin-Mineral profiles. This holistic approach to assessing the associations between diet and health/disease has been proposed in the case-control studies in the context of breast cancer occurrence in women. I am the co-author of a Dietary Habits and Nutrition Beliefs Questionnaire KomPAN® and the Manual for Developing of Nutritional Data, as well as scores allowing a comprehensive assessment of the diet quality, e.g. pHDI ,,pro-Healthy-Diet-Index”, n-HDI "non-Healthy-Diet-Index”, DQI "Diet-Quality-Index" and Polish-aMED® “Polish-adapted Mediterranean Diet score”, the last one was modeled on the traditional diet Mediterranean countries and fitted to the Polish conditions, including food supply and food consumption structure.
