Prof. Dr. Wen-Ying Li is the director of the State Key Laboratory of Clean and Efficient Coal Utilization at the Taiyuan University of Technology and Professor in Chemical Engineering and Technology. She received her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Taiyuan University of Technology in 1989 and 1992, respectively. Additionally, She received her Ph.D. from Dalian University of Technology in 1995. Her current research is focused entirely on enabling the discovery and design of processes and catalysts for sustainable energy, including converting coal-to-liquid, chemicals, and fuels, providing clean conversion technology from low-rank coal, clean and efficient catalytic pyrolysis and gasification of lignite and biomass, and optimizing traditional coal conversion processes and integrating carbon-based polygeneration system of carbon mitigation initiative.
