The main author is a first year resident in the Cardiology unit of Le Scotte university hospital of Siena. Along with her established practical training, she is committed to research projects, especially focused on heart failure, as the Le Scotte cardiology department is one of the main regional centers for HF management and therapy. It is also the heart transplantation centre for the two Italian regions of Tuscany and Umbria.
