Alberto Ortiz is Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). He holds B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. He is author and co-author of more than 170 publications related with computer vision, machine learning and mobile robotics. His current research interests are machine learning (deep and shallow) and its applications, motion estimation, localization and mapping, visual guidance of mobile robots, including obstacle detection and avoidance, and control architectures for mobile robots.
