Marina Gazdic Jankovic is an assistant professor in the Department for Genetics in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at UNIKG in Serbia. In 2017, she obtained a PhD from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at UNIKG. The main objectives of her investigations are the properties of human and mouse mesenchymal stem cells and the significance of a microenvironment for tissue-specific stem cell maintenance and activities. Marina Gazdic Jankovic contributed to the investigation of the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in stem cell-based therapy and organ recovery after injury. Her work is mainly focused on the examination of the paracrine mechanisms of stem cell-based immuno-modulation, particularly in the context of gastrointestinal pathology and regeneration.
