Begoña Fernández Pérez has been an assistant professor at the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering of the University of Oviedo since 2011. He is a mining engineer level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and has a PhD in materials science that he achieved in 2007. He was a senior technician in occupational risk prevention and a supervisor of radioactive installations at the university from 2010. In 2008 he joined the scientific and technical services of the University of Oviedo, as a senior laboratory technician. In 2011 he started to combine this work with teaching at the university.
