Guest Editor 1: Dr. Cornelia Vasile Dr. Cornelia Vasile (cvasile@icmpp.to) is senior researcher at “P.Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Romanian Academy, Physical Chemistry of Polymers Department, Iasi, Romania and Ass. Prof at Laval Unversity Quebec-Canada, „Gh. Asachi” Technical University, Iasi and „Al.I. Cuza” University, Iasi. Educational Background: Bucharest University, chemist (Physical Chemistry); 1971 Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry of Polymers at „Al.I. Cuza” University, Iasi. Her research interests are in the fields of polymeric (bionano)composites; biomaterials; smart polymers biodegradation; polymer compatibility and biocompatibility; kinetics and thermodynamics of polymeric systems; food packaging, (active, bioactive, smart, (bio)degradable); drugs delivery; recovery of polymer wastes by destructive and non-destructive procedures; environmental pollution and protection. As a professor and leading researcher, Dr. Vasile has mentored numerous MSc and PhD students, leaving a lasting impact on the scientific community through her dedication to education and innovative research with a prolific career spanning over five decades.
