Road crack detection is one of the important parts of road safety detection. Aiming at the problems such as weak segmentation effect of basic U-Net on pavement crack, insufficient precision of crack contour segmentation, difficult to identify narrow crack and low segmentation accuracy, this paper proposes an improved U-net network pavement crack segmentation method. VGG16 and Up_Conv (Upsampling Convolution) modules are introduced as backbone network and feature enhancement network respectively, and the more abstract features in the image are extracted by using the Block depth separable convolution blocks, and the multi-scale features are captured and enhanced by higher level semantic information to improve the recognition accuracy of narrow cracks in the road surface. The improved network embedded the Ca(Channel Attention) attention mechanism in U-net’s jump connection to enhance the crack portion to suppress background noise. At the same time, DG_Conv(Depthwise GSConv Convolution) module and UnetUp(Unet Upsampling) module are added in the decoding part to extract richer features through more convolutional layers in the network, so that the model pays more attention to the detailed part of the crack, so the segmentation accuracy can be improved. In order to verify the model’s ability to detect cracks in complex backgrounds, experiments were carried out on CFD and Deepcrack datasets. The experimental results show that compared with the traditional U-net network F1-score and mIoU have increased by 13.6% and 9.9% respectively. Superior to advanced models such as U-net, Segnet and Linknet in accuracy and generalization ability, the improved model provides a new method for asphalt pavement crack detection. The model is more conducive to practical application and ground deployment, and can be applied in road maintenance projects.

Recently, emotional electroencephalography (EEG) has been of great importance in brain–computer interfaces, and it is more urgent to realize automatic emotion recognition. The EEG signal has the disadvantages of being non-smooth, non-linear, stochastic, and susceptible to background noise. Additionally, EEG signal processing network models have the disadvantages of a large number of parameters and long training time. To address the above issues, a novel model is presented in this paper. Initially, a deep sparse autoencoder network (DSAE) was used to remove redundant information from the EEG signal and reconstruct its underlying features. Further, combining a convolutional neural network (CNN) with long short-term memory (LSTM) can extract relevant features from task-related features, mine the correlation between the 32 channels of the EEG signal, and integrate contextual information from these frames. The proposed DSAE + CNN + LSTM (DCRNN) model was experimented with on the public dataset DEAP. The classification accuracies of valence and arousal reached 76.70% and 81.43%, respectively. Meanwhile, we conducted experiments with other comparative methods to further demonstrate the effectiveness of the DCRNN method.

When traditional super-resolution reconstruction methods are applied to infrared thermal images, they often ignore the problem of poor image quality caused by the imaging mechanism, which makes it difficult to obtain high-quality reconstruction results even with the training of simulated degraded inverse processes. To address these issues, we proposed a thermal infrared image super-resolution reconstruction method based on multimodal sensor fusion, aiming to enhance the resolution of thermal infrared images and rely on multimodal sensor information to reconstruct high-frequency details in the images, thereby overcoming the limitations of imaging mechanisms. First, we designed a novel super-resolution reconstruction network, which consisted of primary feature encoding, super-resolution reconstruction, and high-frequency detail fusion subnetwork, to enhance the resolution of thermal infrared images and rely on multimodal sensor information to reconstruct high-frequency details in the images, thereby overcoming limitations of imaging mechanisms. We designed hierarchical dilated distillation modules and a cross-attention transformation module to extract and transmit image features, enhancing the network’s ability to express complex patterns. Then, we proposed a hybrid loss function to guide the network in extracting salient features from thermal infrared images and reference images while maintaining accurate thermal information. Finally, we proposed a learning strategy to ensure the high-quality super-resolution reconstruction performance of the network, even in the absence of reference images. Extensive experimental results show that the proposed method exhibits superior reconstruction image quality compared to other contrastive methods, demonstrating its effectiveness.

In recent years, facial expression recognition has played an important role in the field of human-computer interaction, and the application of deep learning technology has enabled it to develop more rapidly. In this paper, we create a lightweight network model for real-time emotion classification to recognize student facial expressions. The system includes: using Haar cascade for face detection, combined with the idea of Xception to propose a lightweight CNN network model, using pre-activation in the residual block to optimize the model and reduce the impact of overfitting. The experimental results on the FER2013 database show that our model has a better expression classification effect than other state-of-the-art methods. Besides, our model uses fewer parameters, which reduces the complexity of network training. When real-time emotional recognition of students, the system can help teachers adjust their teaching methods according to the emotional state of students.

Deep learning promotes the breakthrough of emotion recognition in many fields, especially speech emotion recognition (SER). As an important part of speech emotion recognition, the most relevant acoustic feature extraction has always attracted the attention of existing researchers. Aiming at the problem that the emotional information contained in the current speech signals is distributed dispersedly and cannot comprehensively integrate local and global information, this paper presents a network model based on a gated recurrent unit (GRU) and multi-head attention. We evaluate our proposed emotion model on the IEMOCAP and Emo-DB corpora. The experimental results show that the network model based on Bi-GRU and multi-head attention is significantly better than the traditional network model at detecting multiple evaluation indicators. At the same time, we also apply the model to a speech sentiment analysis task. On the CH-SIMS and MOSI datasets, the model shows excellent generalization performance.
