Consuming health supplements is essential to strengthen the immune systems and protect against illness, especially during health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering the increasing number of Muslim populations worldwide and the necessity of online applications during health crises, this research aims to study the consumer's purchase intention of halal health supplement products online by examining variables influencing consumer's purchase intention. The Theory of Planned Behaviour has been applied as an underlying theory for this study, including religiosity and COVID-19 as an extension to the theory. 214 respondents participated in this study by completing the survey questionnaire via an online platform. Analysis was performed using SmartPLS4. The findings illustrate that perceived benefit is the most important indicator for Indonesian respondents, while attitude, subjective norms, and the COVID-19 pandemic are the factors that contribute to purchase intention among Malaysian respondents. The study enhances current literature, specifically in the context of halal health supplement products. Additionally, investigating the COVID-19 pandemic in the context of halal health supplements with a unique set of variables leads to a new path of study. Examining consumer behavior such as perceived benefit, attitude, subjective norms, and the COVID-19 pandemic that influence online purchase intention will provide consumer insights to marketers involved in halal health supplement products. The perspective on consumer beliefs gives directions for strategy development to businesses.

The demand on global halal cosmetics market is anticipated to reach USD 53 billion by the end of 2023. In fact, the rising awareness about percutaneous essence of conventional cosmetic products has made consumers shift to “halal” cosmetics. Malaysia is one of the country in providing full support to promote “halal” certification process on halal cosmetic products. Products certified “halal” by JAKIM are Halal products as it is safe to consume, nutritious and also the products are quality controlled. In accordance to it, the purpose of this research conducted is to identify the intention in consuming halal cosmetic products among Muslim females in West Malaysia. As aforementioned, this study has identified five factors that influence consumers’ intention in consuming halal cosmetic products. These factors served as independent variables namely functional value, conditional value, social value, epistemic value and emotional value which is extracted from the Theory of Consumption Value (TCV). This research employed a structured online survey targeting approximately 400 Muslim females from the age 16 to 60 years old in West Malaysia. Data obtained was analysed using Partial Least Square- Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings revealed that conditional value, emotional value and epistemic value has positively contributed significantly on the intention in purchasing halal cosmetic products. On the other hand, functional value and social value has revealed being insignificant on intention to purchase halal cosmetic products. This study further contributed by providing a comprehensive theoretical framework on the intention to purchase halal cosmetic products.

Sustainable smart houses are one of the methods through which all these factors can be touched upon because such houses provide social well-being and cause less damage to the environment. Therefore, this study analysed the predictors of purchase behaviour of sustainable smart houses and their impact on community happiness. Among the predictors which are part of this study include attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, cost, intention, and social media networks. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey from 187 Malaysian respondents, and SmartPLS was used for data analysis. Results revealed that purchase of sustainable smart houses does have an impact on community happiness. It establishes the extent to which community well-being has been prioritised by local property developers. In addition, it suggests strategies to help these developers to materialise the goals of smart and sustainable property development focusing on community well-being.

This chapter explores participation and co-production in affective media experiences in Johnny & Associates' online fan communities. Johnny & Associates is a Japanese all-male talent management company established in the 1960s. As a pioneer in the idol industry, Johnny & Associates and artists under its management have been highly influential in the contemporary Japanese entertainment industry. These artists are collectively known as Johnny's idols or Janīzu. Much of the data are collected through participant-experiencer and interviews. The originality of this case study stems mainly from the empirical data for Johnny & Associates, Janīzu, and the global fan base during Johnny & Associates' transition to a social media platform. This chapter analyses marketing strategy, audience awareness, and behaviour in relation to a mass media phenomenon. The complex interaction among Johnny & Associates, Janīzu, and fans generates tensions and contradictions that mirror the modern mediated life.

The accelerating convergence of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) digital technologies and circular-economy imperatives presents both a research opportunity and a coordination challenge. Although scholars increasingly examine how Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and other digital technologies act as enablers for resource-efficient business models and closed-loop systems, the literature remains scattered across disciplines, geographies, and methods. Here, this study seeks to fill that gap through a systematic bibliometric and network analysis of 689 Scopus-indexed records retrieved via an advanced Scopus query, cleaned and harmonized in OpenRefine. The data are profiled using Scopus Analyzer for descriptive statistics and visualized with VOSviewer to generate co-occurrence and co-authorship maps. Numerical findings reveal a concentrated production profile, with China leading with 251 documents, 6,406 citations, and a Total Link Strength (TLS) of 117, followed by the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States (US). Network analysis produced seven robust thematic clusters in the keyword co-occurrence map and nine stable country collaboration clusters, identifying core themes (technology enablers, circular business models, environmental performance) alongside policy and regional empirical strands. Collaboration topology is dominated by China, with the UK acting as a high-connectivity collaborator and several emergent regional hubs such as Malaysia and India. Collectively, these results synthesize the field’s intellectual structure, reveal under connected yet promising topic bridges related to digital finance and circular business models, and indicate priority areas for causal empirical research and cross-cluster collaboration. We conclude by recommending a targeted research area integrating causal identification, multi-level datasets, and reproducible materials to accelerate theory consolidation and evidence-based policy in the digitally enabled transition to Circular Economies (CEs).
