Nick Serpone: Professor Emeritus (Canada), Visiting Professor at Universities of Pavia (since 2002), Bologna, Ferrara, EPFL (Lausanne), Ecole Centrale de Lyon, Tokyo University of Science, and Guest Lecturer at University of Milan; Program Director at NSF (Washington, DC) and consultant for 3M Company (USA; 1986–1996). Co-edited/co-authored 12 books, contributed 34 chapters, and published over 490 articles. Principal research interests: photophysics and photochemistry of coordination compounds and metal-oxide semiconductors, photocatalysis, and microwave-assisted chemistry. Elected Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences (2010), was Head of its Materials Science Division (2014–2020), and currently is on the Editorial Board of Discover Materials.
