Francesca Fornari is a senior researcher (BIO/12, Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) at the Department for Life Quality Studies, University of Bologna. She carries out her
research in molecular oncology at Policlinico St.Orsola-Malpighi, Bologna. Her research interests are aimed at the study of molecular mechanisms involved in tumor progression and drug resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma. She investigates the role of microRNAs as possible therapeutic targets and biomarkers of early diagnosis and response to treatments. She participates in national and international research projects. The author of scientific publications, she has received several prizes and awards including grant funding as a young investigator in the program Regione-Università, called ‘Alessandro Liberati’. She is the principal investigator of an AIRC investigator grant entitled 'Identification of circulating biomarkers for
patient allocation to the best treatment in hepatocellular carcinoma'.
