Dr. Melina Lopez-Meyer has been interested in elucidating the molecular mechanisms of the priming of defense responses by arbuscular mycorrhiza symbiosis. She has mainly worked in tomato and common bean as plant models. Dr. Lopez-Meyer has worked at CIIDIR-Sinaloa from Instituto Politecnico Nacional in Mexico for 20 years.
