Dr. Paulo Michel Roehe Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from UFRGS (1977), M.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of London (LSHTM), UK (1982), and PhD in Virology from the University of Surrey, UK (1991). Retired researcher from FEPAGRO Animal Health, Desidério Finamor Veterinary Research Institute (IPVDF). Dr. Paulo Michel Roehe remains an invited researcher at the Postgraduate Program in Veterinary Science at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul but is now retired. Dr. Paulo Michel Roehe is a Full Professor, Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Parasitology, Institute of Basic Sciences, UFRGS (ICBS/UUFRGS). Coordinator of a research group in virology with national and international branches. Adviser of masters and doctorates in the Program of Post-Graduation in Veterinary Sciences of the Veterinary Faculty of UFRGS. Former president of the Brazilian Society of Virology (biennium 2009-2010). Research group leader. Reviewer of national and international journals. Former coordinator of the Agricultural Sciences Committee of FAPERGS. Main lines of research: diagnosis and research of viruses causing significant damage to production chains, development of vaccines and diagnostic tests, metagenomics, metaviromics, evaluation of vaccine adjuvants, and the antiviral activity of plant extracts. Consultant of several national and international research development agencies.
