This study aims to examine the perspectives of various stakeholders, such as students and educators, on the use of artificial intelligence in teaching mathematics, specifically after the launch of ChatGPT. The study adopts a qualitative case study approach consisting of two stages: content analysis of interviews and investigation of user experience. The first stage of the study shows that ChatGPT is recognized for its improved math capabilities and ability to increase educational success by providing users with basic knowledge of mathematics and various topics. ChatGPT can offer comprehensive instruction and assistance in the study of geometry, and the public discourse on social media is generally positive, with enthusiasm for the use of ChatGPT in teaching mathematics and educational settings. However, there are also voices that approach using ChatGPT in educational settings with caution. In the second stage of the study, the investigation of user experiences through three educational scenarios revealed various issues. ChatGPT lacks a deep understanding of geometry and cannot effectively correct misconceptions. The accuracy and effectiveness of ChatGPT solutions may depend on the complexity of the equation, input data, and the instructions given to ChatGPT. ChatGPT is expected to become more efficient in resolving increasingly complex mathematical problems. The results of this investigation propose a number of avenues for research that ought to be explored in order to guarantee the secure and conscientious integration of chatbots, especially ChatGPT, into mathematics education and learning.

Database systems have consistently been prime targets for cyber-attacks and threats due to the critical nature of the data they store. Despite the increasing reliance on database management systems, this field continues to face numerous cyber-attacks. Database management systems serve as the foundation of any information system or application. Any cyber-attack can result in significant damage to the database system and loss of sensitive data. Consequently, cyber risk classifications and assessments play a crucial role in risk management and establish an essential framework for identifying and responding to cyber threats. Risk assessment aids in understanding the impact of cyber threats and developing appropriate security controls to mitigate risks. The primary objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of cyber risks in database management systems, including classifying threats, vulnerabilities, impacts, and countermeasures. This classification helps to identify suitable security controls to mitigate cyber risks for each type of threat. Additionally, this research aims to explore technical countermeasures to protect database systems from cyber threats. This study employs the content analysis method to collect, analyze, and classify data in terms of types of threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures. The results indicate that SQL injection attacks and Denial of Service (DoS) attacks were the most prevalent technical threats in database systems, each accounting for 9% of incidents. Vulnerable audit trails, intrusion attempts, and ransomware attacks were classified as the second level of technical threats in database systems, comprising 7% and 5% of incidents, respectively. Furthermore, the findings reveal that insider threats were the most common non-technical threats in database systems, accounting for 5% of incidents. Moreover, the results indicate that weak authentication, unpatched databases, weak audit trails, and multiple usage of an account were the most common technical vulnerabilities in database systems, each accounting for 9% of vulnerabilities. Additionally, software bugs, insecure coding practices, weak security controls, insecure networks, password misuse, weak encryption practices, and weak data masking were classified as the second level of security vulnerabilities in database systems, each accounting for 4% of vulnerabilities. The findings from this work can assist organizations in understanding the types of cyber threats and developing robust strategies against cyber-attacks.

The adoption of big data analytics (BDA) is increasing pace both in practice and in theory, owing to the prospects and its potential advantages. Numerous researchers believe that BDA could provide significant advantages, despite constant battles with the constraints that limit its implementation. Here, we suggest an incorporated model to investigate the drivers and impacts of BDA adoption in the Jordanian hotel industry based on the technology–organisation–environment framework and the resource-based view theory. The suggested model incorporates both the adoption and performance components of BDA into a single model. For data collection, in this study, we used an online questionnaire survey. The research model was verified based on responses from 119 Jordanian hotels. This study yielded two significant findings. First, we discovered that relative advantage, organizational readiness, top management support, and government regulations have a major impact on BDA adoption. The study results also reveal a strong and favourable association between BDA adoption and firm performance. Finally, information sharing was found to have a moderating effect on the association between BDA adoption and firm performance. The data revealed how businesses might increase their BDA adoption for improved firm performance. The present study adds to the limited but growing body of literature investigating the drivers and consequences of technology acceptance. The findings of this study can serve as a resource for scholars and practitioners interested in big data adoption in emerging nations.

STEM education promotes innovation and creativity and provides learners with the opportunity to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills, which are all essential for sustainable development. When these skills are applied to real-world situations, they can help to address social, economic, and environmental challenges. STEM education can foster new solutions and technologies that contribute to sustainable development. The objective of this research was to ascertain the degree to which STEM-based teaching can attain sustainable development goals in learning, according to Saudi Arabian educators who have undergone training or have experience in teaching using this approach. In order to achieve this objective, a questionnaire was constructed, and its psychometric properties were validated. The findings of this study indicate that pedagogy based on the STEM approach possesses the capacity to realize sustainable development goals in learning. The goals were ranked based on the degree of effectiveness of STEM-based teaching in achieving them, with the highest average score being obtained for the goal of ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and enhancing lifelong learning opportunities for all, while the lowest average was obtained for the goal of total elimination of hunger. Consequently, this study recommends the adoption of STEM-based teaching as a pedagogical approach that can facilitate the achievement of sustainable development goals in learning over the long term.

Considering the differences in academic backgrounds and majors, diversity of faculty members’ perceptions, and complete shift to digital education, energy must be expended toward ensuring that the teaching practices of faculty members are innovative and distinctive by providing advanced methods and models for evaluation operations. Thus, this study aimed to assess a model for measuring perceptions of both the teaching profession and creative teaching practices among faculty members that explains the relationship between faculty members’ perceptions about teaching and their creative practices that was constructed to explain the nature of this relationship and enable the development of the faculty members’ academic and professional performance. Two instruments were developed in this study, and the study sample consisted of 250 faculty members. Structural equation modeling was used to assess the proposed model. The results of the modified construction model showed an improvement in the goodness of fit indicators, which points toward this being the best model for interpreting the study data. The developed assessment model and scales can be used as tools to measure faculty members’ perceptions and predict the improvement of their creative teaching practices as well as for their professional development during distance learning.

Understanding the factors that influence student performance is crucial for improving educational outcomes. Thus, this study aims to examine the impact of socio-economic and psychological factors on student performance, less is known about how students' personal attitudes and behaviors across different departments and activities correlate with their academic success. This study employs exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends and relationships within the dataset. Machine learning techniques, such as K-means clustering and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, are utilized to model and predict student performance based on their reported behaviors and preferences. The dataset is reduced using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to enhance the clustering process. The findings suggest significant variations in academic performance based on departmental affiliation, gender, and engagement in certification courses. The LSTM model achieved an accuracy of 91% on the test set, demonstrating substantial predictive capability. However, the classification report reveals that while the model was highly effective in identifying the majority class (label 1), achieving a precision of 91% and a recall of 100%, it failed to correctly predict any instances of the minority class (label 0). The insights from this study could help educators tailor interventions to address the specific needs of students based on their behaviors and departmental affiliations, leading to more personalized education strategies and potentially improving academic outcomes.
