Dr. Daniel Hölbling is a senior scientist at the Department of Geoinformatics – Z_GIS at the University of Salzburg, where he is leading the research group “Risk, Hazard and Climate” and research projects in the fields of remote sensing, natural hazards, and geomorphology. He gained a PhD in Applied Geoinformatics from the University of Salzburg and specializes in developing advanced image analysis methods using optical, radar, and topographic remote-sensing data. His research primarily involves remote sensing-based mapping and monitoring of geomorphic features and natural hazards, particularly landslides and their impact on the environment and society, studying landform dynamics and the interaction of landscape shaping processes, and disaster risk reduction.
