Fernando Gerchman is graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. He completed his Master’s degree in Endocrinology and Metabolism and his Doctor Degree at the same program after completed a Clinical Research Postdoc Fellowship at the Department of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition of the University of Washington, in Seattle, USA. Since 2013 is Professor of Medicine at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil. Fernando lab dedicates efforts in figering out best approaches of diets for the treatment of obesity and diabetes. His lab also study mechanisms related to Obesity and Diabetes and their complications and the best pharmacologic treatments of both Diseases.
