David J. Beale is a Senior Research Scientist in the Industry Environments (IE) research program in Land & Water, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at RMIT University, where he delivers research outcomes and creates impact in the area of environmental applications of functional omics (i.e., proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics) coupled with traditional contaminant analysis. He is a project leader who develops high-throughput tools for detecting, quantifying, and tracking contaminants in the environment and assessing their biological impact using omics-based tools and techniques. He graduated from RMIT University and received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry. He is also a Visiting Scholar at the University of Queensland, an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast, and an Adjunct Fellow and Accredited Postgraduate Supervisor at the Swinburne University of Technology.
