Biography

Dr. Jun Xu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University. He received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University, in 1997 and 2002, respectively. He teaches Polymer Processing and Applications, Experiments on Polymer Physics, and Experiments on Polymer Processing to undergraduates. His research interests are in the field of polymer crystallization, biodegradable polymers, polyurethanes and polyureas, etc. His research is on deepening the understanding of banded polymer spherulites and the nucleation of polymer lamellar crystals. The polymerization technologies for poly(butylene succinate) and poly(butylene adipate-co-butylene terephthalate) have been transferred to companies and commercialized at a scale of 120000 tons annually. He was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers (2011), Feng Xingde Polymer Prize for winning "The Best Paper Nomination from China" published in the journal Polymer in 2011, and "Crystals 2021 Best Paper Award".
