Elena G. Dascalaki is a research director at IERSD-NOA. She holds a doctorate in building physics (1998), an MSc in environmental physics (1990), and a BSc in physics (1987). She is active in energy conservation and the rational use of energy in buildings, building typologies, building stock modeling, life cycle analysis, embodied energy-carbon, technical guidelines and national software for EPBD transposition, energy audits, the numerical modeling of thermal energy systems, building thermal simulations, the assessment of ventilation systems for building applications, computational fluid dynamics, indoor air quality, renewable energy sources for building applications, and numerical analysis.
