Rafsan Jany is currently a Doctoral Researcher in the Digital Healthcare Division at the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) and a PhD candidate in Convergence Medical Science at the University of Science and Technology (UST), Korea. His research is at the forefront of AI-powered healthcare, focusing on the development and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Machine Intelligence into modern healthcare devices and clinical workflows. His work is particularly centered on biosignal processing, remote photoplethysmography (rPPG), digital image processing, and multimodal healthcare data analysis. Rafsan is actively involved in several ongoing research projects related to rPPG-based contactless vital sign monitoring and biosignal analysis (including EEG, ECG, PPG) for both clinical applications and wearable/remote health monitoring systems. He is contributing to the development of novel AI-driven pipelines for extracting and interpreting subtle physiological signals from video, electrical, and optical signals to derive clinically relevant biomarkers. His work also explores the fusion of multimodal biosignals to improve diagnostic accuracy and real-time monitoring capabilities. Previously, Rafsan completed his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Software Engineering from the CSE Department, Islamic Universityengineer. He is now interested in big data analytics, brain-computer interface, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and ergonomics.
