Dr Nitin Mantri is Professor of Biotechnology and Program Manager for Master of Biotechnology at RMIT University, Australia. He is an international expert in plant functional genomics, traditional medicine, and pharmacology. He has published 115 Refereed Articles with 90% from the last 3 years published in SJR Q1 journals. In 2017, he established himself as a Medicinal Cannabis expert as a Founding Member of the Medicinal Cannabis Council, Australia, and establishing an AUD 1.35 million Cannabis Research Facility. He also led the development of the ‘International Library of Cannabinoids’ database, which allows growers, patients, doctors, and researchers to curate information about strains and their clinical use.
He has been invited by the Victorian State Government and Federal Government for input into regulations for ‘Medicinal Cannabis research and manufacturing’ and ‘Establishing Victoria as an industry hub for Medicinal Cannabis’. He serves on the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group), Frontiers in Plant Science (Frontiers Group), Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (Elsevier), Frontiers in Genetics (Frontiers Group), and International Journal of Molecular Sciences (MDPI). Recently, he chaired the Conference Organising Committee of Cannabis 2020 and International Conference on Traditional Medicine and Phytochemistry 2021. He is also the founding member of The International Phytomedomics and Nutriomics Consortium.
