Analyzing the slope stability of work levels, final slopes and slope system was carried out in the area of the open pit 'Gacko' according to the criteria required by the law of the Republic Srpska. This paper presents a comparative analysis of slope stability with three numerical methods by Bishop, Yanbu and Morgenstern-Price in various pore pressures ru=0, ru=0.2 ru=0.4 and critical factor of influence the stress reduction at the same pore pressures that were already mentioned. The analyses of slope stability were carried out with the existing and newly obtained data. The software packages SLIDE v6.0 and PHASE2 v8.0 of company ROCSCIENCE were used for calculation methods. The expected result is approximately the same value for the safety coefficient (Fs) and critical factor of influence the stress reduction (SRF) only at that point of analysis.

This paper describes the concepts of 3D terrain models and their application in mining. The methods of terrain (relief) by spots elevation and contour lines are commonly applied on geodetic plans and topographic maps. Appearance of the technologies has changed the way of modeling and analysis of geospatial data, i.e., applying the concept of digital terrain models (DTM). This approach emphasizes the importance of geomorphometric analyses and monitoring changes on the field in time. Application of 3D geodata models in digital format (raster or vector) becomes increasingly used in mining. Therefore, it is important to describe the concepts and features of 3D geodata models and potential applications and monitoring changes in the field in time and space.

The paper describes some experiences and the methodology used for evaluation the vertical accuracy of data on the official (state) topographic maps. The vertical accuracy is an important element of quality 3D representation on the topographic maps in digital, as well as in analogous forms. A comparative way of testing is usually applied for determining the vertical accuracy, namely the comparison of the measured values of topographic maps with 'true' or 'conditionally true' values (numeric data of the geodetic and height points). This method gives a direct accuracy assessment of the printed maps and 3D terrain models, especially when used in industries such as mining. To a large extent, the vertical accuracy of data and geomorphology (geographic) fidelity relief on the topographic maps is not always sufficient quality. The type of survey and how the matter affects the quality, or the geodetic control points are drawn precisely, where the accuracy of the contour lines is lower. However, the application of a new technology is changes the 3D visualization of terrain, thus increasing the vertical accuracy of data.
