To further reduce the error rate of rainfall prediction, we used a new machine learning model for rainfall prediction and new feature engineering methods, and combined the satellite system’s method of observing rainfall with the machine learning prediction. Based on multivariate correlations among meteorological information, this study proposes a rainfall forecast model based on the Attentive Interpretable Tabular Learning neural network (TabNet). This study used self-supervised learning to help the TabNet model speed up convergence and maintain stability. We also used feature engineering methods to alleviate the uncertainty caused by seasonal changes in rainfall forecasts. The experiment used 5 years of meteorological data from 26 stations in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region of China to verify the proposed rainfall forecast model. The comparative experiment proved that our proposed method improves the performance of the model, and that the basic model used is also superior to other traditional models. This research provides a high-performance method for rainfall prediction and provides a reference for similar data-mining tasks.

With the rapid development of the internet and social media, extracting emergency events from online news reports has become an urgent need for public safety. However, current studies on the text mining of emergency information mainly focus on text classification and event recognition, only obtaining a general and conceptual cognition about an emergency event, which cannot effectively support emergency risk warning, etc. Existing event extraction methods of other professional fields often depend on a domain-specific, well-designed syntactic dependency or external knowledge base, which can offer high accuracy in their professional fields, but their generalization ability is not good, and they are difficult to directly apply to the field of emergency. To address these problems, an end-to-end Chinese emergency event extraction model, called EmergEventMine, is proposed using a deep adversarial network. Considering the characteristics of Chinese emergency texts, including small-scale labelled corpora, relatively clearer syntactic structures, and concentrated argument distribution, this paper simplifies the event extraction with four subtasks as a two-stage task based on the goals of subtasks, and then develops a lightweight heterogeneous joint model based on deep neural networks for realizing end-to-end and few-shot Chinese emergency event extraction. Moreover, adversarial training is introduced into the joint model to alleviate the overfitting of the model on the small-scale labelled corpora. Experiments on the Chinese emergency corpus fully prove the effectiveness of the proposed model. Moreover, this model significantly outperforms other existing state-of-the-art event extraction models.
Background: Medication recommendation based on electronic medical record (EMR) is a research hot spot in smart healthcare. For developing computational medication recommendation methods based on EMR, an important challenge is the lack of a large number of longitudinal EMR data with time correlation. Faced with this challenge, this paper proposes a new EMR-based medication recommendation model called MR-KPA, which combines knowledge-enhanced pre-training with the deep adversarial network to improve medication recommendation from both feature representation and the fine-tuning process. Firstly, a knowledge-enhanced pre-training visit model is proposed to realize domain knowledge-based external feature fusion and pre-training-based internal feature mining for improving the feature representation. Secondly, a medication recommendation model based on the deep adversarial network is developed to optimize the fine-tuning process of pre-training visit model and alleviate over-fitting of model caused by the task gap between pre-training and recommendation. Result: The experimental results on EMRs from medical and health institutions in Hainan Province, China show that the proposed MR-KPA model can effectively improve the accuracy of medication recommendation on small-scale longitudinal EMR data compared with existing representative methods. Conclusion: The advantages of the proposed MR-KPA are mainly attributed to knowledge enhancement based on ontology embedding, the pre-training visit model and adversarial training. Each of these three optimizations is very effective for improving the capability of medication recommendation on small-scale longitudinal EMR data, and the pre-training visit model has the most significant improvement effect. These three optimizations are also complementary, and their integration makes the proposed MR-KPA model achieve the best recommendation effect.
