Glòria Soria earned a BS in Biology (1987) and a PhD in Microbiology (1993) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She also earned, a MS in Biology (1989) from the State University of New York. She has thirty-six years of experience in healthcare. She began her career as clinical microbiologist at the General Hospital of Catalonia and was then Technical Director of the Catalan Reference Laboratory and Technical Director of Cerba Laboratory. Currently, she is Director of Laboratories at the Blood and Tissue Bank in Barcelona. She received the Professional Career Award (2020), granted by the College of Biologists of Catalonia. She teaches Microbiology at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and her interests include microbiology applied to quality control of substances of human origin and environmental control of clean rooms.
