Biography

Dr. Abrar Muhammad is Associate Professor at the College of Animal Sciences, Zhejiang University, China. He earned his PhD in Agricultural Entomology and completed postdoctoral research in Ecotoxicology in China. His work investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying the biological effects of emerging pollutants, particularly microplastics, pesticides, and their mixtures, using invertebrate models. He has demonstrated how co-exposure disrupts redox homeostasis, induces DNA damage, and alters stress-response pathways, with findings published in prestigious journals. His research supports mechanistic risk assessment of complex environmental contaminants using modern molecular tools.
