Carmela Dell’Aversano is a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Napoli Federico II. At this same University, in 1993, she earned her Master’s Degree with honors in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology and in 2002 she completed her PhD thesis in Pharmacologically Active Natural Products. Her scientific activity is centered on the chemistry of natural toxins, mainly focusing on the development of LC-MS/MS- and LC-HRMSn-based methods for their identification and quantification in the environment and in seafood, as well as on the implementation of bio- and MS-guided procedures for their isolation in a pure form. Most of her publications are the result of collaborative studies with national and international research groups operating in the field of marine ecology, toxicology, and seafood safety.
