Composite concrete such as fiber reinforced concrete is widely used in structures because of its excellent properties such as compressive, flexural and tensile strengths and also high modulus of elasticity because it gives lower strain values under loading and too fewer cracks propagation. In this study, Aluminum strips was prepared by cutting the Coca- Cola cans as strips in concrete. The reason of using Aluminum strip is low density and good tensile strength (about 310 MPa) and also has a good ductility. The results of this study show good improvements in compressive, tensile and flexural strengths using 117 tested specimens for both concrete and mortar. In brief, about 22 % increment in compressive strength of Aluminum strip concrete and flexural strength increases from 3.31 MPa to 11.20 MPa when using Aluminum strips with 2.5 % by volume of concrete. The reinforced mortar with Aluminum strips demonstrates significant increments which are 27% for compressive strength and more than 100% for both flexural and tensile strengths comparing with reference mix.
Finding a vacant parking space nowadays is time and fuel consuming. This problem may cause drivers to get frustrated and eventually improper parking will appear. The universities, in particular, are one of these places, which needs more attention for providing parking services. Therefore, this study has focused on finding the parking required for such facilities and the benefit of applying smart parking services there. The main campus of the University of Kufa has been evaluated by collecting parking data for both on-street and off-street parking. The results of field data show a clear lack of parking space for most of the faculties in the main campus. The required additional parking spaces are 260.This study has suggested using the smart parks. The model of smart park system has been introduced by this study as a solution to the parking problem, especially in the university and generally in other places. Arduino and ultrasonic sensors were used to detect the empty places in a park and display this status to the screen. The model has been applied at the park of College of Engineering with encouraging results.

Modern urban cities around the world suffer from high congestions due to high daily trips for different purposes. Al-Kufa city has a lot of congested roads in its road network. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the current traffic situation. Firstly, the number of links and nodes has been counted using GIS software. These links represent major and minor arterials. The collected data include flow, speed and geometric characteristics for each link and node in the network. The traffic assignment model (Stochastic User Equilibrium) in TransCAD software was adopted in this study. The results indicated that the value (v/c) for most of these roads is more than one which indicated congested roads.
Putting plan and management for a transportation system is a significant step. This study, therefore, has focused on evaluating public transportation in Al-Kut

Iraqi roads mainly suffer from rutting distresses which resulting from extremely axle loading and high difference in temperature between seasons and even in day and night for the same day. Different types of modifier polymer have been inserted into asphalt materials to enhance the characteristics of asphalt concrete mixture as a whole. Thus, this paper has generally been dedicated to investigate the effect of using two types of polymers; Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) on the rutting distress. Accordingly, five ratios (4%, 6%, 8% and 10%) of SBS and HDPE have been used as a percentage of total mix in order to get the optimum influence of each ratio. Hence, the best ratios for surface (Type III A) layer are 8% HDPE and 6% SBS; whereas these ratios for binder layer are 6% HDPE and 2% SBS. The results indicate that the reduction in rutting percent are (72% and 65%) for HDPE and SBS for each type of additives at 40°C. Accordingly, this means these types of polymers have a significant role in reduction of rutting in surfacing and binder layers.

Road network development is a key factor in developing any region in these days. The correct connectivity and the right orientation are needed in an urgent way in order to make a development to road network. However, the attention that is given to the development of the road network especially in the urban areas is insufficient. Thus, the analysis of the road network in the city of Al-Najaf is the main focus of this paper. Beta, Gama, Eta indices and other measures such as spreading index, correlation index were adopted in this study in order to assess the road network for the city. The main findings of this study are that there is an urgent need to improve the road network, and one way to do this is constructing new roads. Lastly, a better prediction to the network can be given by measuring the density of the city road network.
