Mihaela Kavran is an assistant professor at the Laboratory of Medical and Veterinary Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad. She has nine years of experience in entomology, both in the field and the laboratory work. Her research focus is on insects of medical importance, such as mosquitoes, biting midges, black flies, and sand flies. She is involved in West Nile virus surveillance in mosquitoes of Vojvodina Province, as well as in monitoring invasive species of the Aedes genus. Mihaela Kavran has published 36 papers and participated in national and international projects. She has been the evaluator of one international project and has reviewed 25 international papers that were then published in peer-reviewed journals.
