Biography

I am a Senior Researcher at the Nature Research Centre, Laboratory of Genetics, with a background in molecular biology and microbiology. I hold a Doctoral degree in Physical Sciences (Biochemistry) from the Institute of Biochemistry, Vilnius University. My doctoral research focused on the investigation of the impact of endoribonucleases on bacteriophage T4 early transcripts. My research interests include the study of genetic structures of microorganisms (RNA and DNA) using genetic engineering and molecular biology techniques. I focus on the molecular identification of Sarcocystis parasites in natural environments and the investigation of biocidal systems in naturally occurring yeasts using modern genetic tools. I also specialize in the genetic identification of microorganisms and the application of genetic engineering technologies in scientific research. I have extensive experience working with environmental samples, including the isolation of bacteriophages and bacteria from water, soil, and feed, as well as the isolation and identification of yeasts from berries and fruits. I am an active member of the Microbiology and Biochemistry Society and currently supervise several PhD students.
