Dr. Lucas Hof started his position as Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical
Engineering, École de technologie supérieure, Canada, in September 2018. He obtained his
PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University, Canada, and obtained
both his Masters and Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Mechatronics,
from Delft University of Technology. He has co-developed a novel glass micromachining
technology to industrial level allowing the lean production of ultra-customized glass parts. His
current research evolves from the need of a transformation from a linear to a more sustainable circular economy and concentrates on developing re-manufacturing technologies and smart disassembly approaches. To this day, Dr. Hof has accumulated over 10 years of teaching, entrepreneurial and industrial experience and produced over 50 journal and conference papers and one patent.
