A significant evolution in healthcare recently uses technological advancements to perform different activities, such as patient electronic medical records (EMRs) data gathering, preserving, processing, diagnosis, and handling. The adaptation of the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud has further facilitated the enhancement of related healthcare systems, which can considerably improve data connectivity, accessibility, and exchange, which leads to a significant improvement in the quality of services to patients. Furthermore, scientific computations over data in transmission can be exposed to adversaries and may reveal private data for financial benefit. This article uses the Cheon-Kim-Kim-Song fully homomorphic encryption scheme and IOTA Tangle using masked authenticated messaging (MAM) protocol to provide secure communication between patient and doctor. CKKS-FHE-based data encryption provides data privacy, and secured EMRs sharing through IOTA Tangle guarantees data confidentiality. The performance of this work is analyzed in terms of encryption and decryption time, and payload sharing using MAM and NON-MAM protocols results in evidence of the effectiveness of the approach and improves overall security. The proposed scheme performs better overall computation time and performance than other relevant schemes. Further, the security analysis shows that the proposed system is resilient to data immutability and integrity, forward secrecy, and passive and active attacks.
In V2X (vehicle-to-everything) communication, there is a two-way communication among the vehicle(s) and other Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled smart devices around it that may change how we need to drive. Due to the advancement of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and the rapid development of IoT in transportation, traditional applications are converted to intelligent applications. In V2X communications, the collected information from the IoT smart devices and other sources passes through low-latency, high-bandwidth, high-reliability links. With the future adoption of the 5th generation mobile network (5G) and beyond networks, V2X continues to produce a huge volume of data. However, collecting and storing data securely in blockchain-based storage are extremely needed for immutability and transparency. In this survey article, the convergence of IoT, V2X and blockchain technologies, and various security challenges and their countermeasures are discussed. Next, we discuss various V2X applications and their respective services. Moreover, IoT-V2X architecture and its enabling technologies are discussed in this article. In addition, we also provide a comprehensive analysis of various security mechanisms. Finally, we provide some important challenges and issues of Blockchain for Intelligent Transportation System (BITS).
The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) sector has advanced rapidly in recent years, and security and privacy are essential considerations in the IoMT due to the extensive scope and implementation of IoMT networks. Machine learning (ML) and blockchain (BC) technologies have dramatically improved the functionalities and services of Healthcare 5.0, giving rise to a new domain termed Smart Healthcare. A proactive healthcare system may prevent long-term harm by recognizing issues early. This would improve patients’ quality of life while alleviating their worry and healthcare expenses. The IoMT facilitates several capabilities in information technology, including intelligent and interactive healthcare. Consolidating medical information into a singular repository to train a robust ML model engenders apprehensions around privacy, ownership, and adherence to regulatory standards due to increased concentration. Federated learning (FL) addresses previous challenges using a centralized aggregate server to distribute global learning models. The local participant controls patient data, ensuring data confidentiality and security. Hence, this study proposes the Federated Blockchain-IoT Framework for Sustainable Healthcare Systems (FBCI-SHS) for a secure health monitoring system. Additionally, this paper presents the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) as a tool for healthcare network intrusion detection, allowing doctors to track patients’ vitals using medical sensors and anticipate when they could become sick so they can take preventative steps. The suggested system proves that the method is well-suited for medical monitoring. In contrast, the high prediction accuracy for intrusion detection and the high efficiency in disease detection achieved by the proposed FBI-SHS healthcare 5.0 system. The proposed method achieves data privacy and security by 98.73%, intrusion detection efficiency by 97.16%, disease detection accuracy by 96.425, proactive healthcare management by 98.37%, and interoperability by 96.74%.
