Rossana Galassi graduated in Chemistry at the University of Camerino in 1992. In 1996, she was awarded a PhD in chemistry and, in 1998, she became university researcher in the disciplinary sector CHIM03 (General and Inorganic Chemistry) at the University of Camerino. Her main interest is in the chemistry of late transition metals with particular attention to their coordination chemistry and their structural characterization. Among the most important research lines, there are those concerning the bioinorganics of gold compounds and that concerning the study of compounds with optoelectronic properties such as photosensitive elements. In recent years, thanks to the collaboration with private companies, she has been dealing with the application of spectroscopy in sensors.
