PINAR KARAGOZ received a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Engineering, Middle East Technical University (METU). During her Ph.D. studies, she worked as a Researcher at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY, USA. She had research visits at MIT CSAIL, University of Ostrava, Aalto University, and Southern Denmark University. She is currently a Full Professor with the Department of Computer Engineering, METU. She has publications in internationally recognized and indexed international journals, and about 100 papers in international conferences in the area. Her research interests include data mining, machine learning algorithms, information retrieval, and social media analysis and mining. In 2016, she received the Best Paper Award in IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS. In 2017, her article was nominated for Wilkes Award of The Computer Journal.
