A joint experimental and theoretical study revealed the occurrence of highly efficient intramolecular charge transfer and excited state symmetry breaking in a cationic (donor–π–acceptor–π–donor)+ quadrupolar compound showing negative solvatochromism.
Two sets of silver–molybdate complexes with L = XR 3 (X = P, As, Sb; R 3 = Ph 3 , Ph 2 Py) and functionalized pyridine-based ligands have been studied with different techniques.
