Charles Odilichukwu R. Okpala is a Chartered Scientist (CSci) of the Science Council-UK, Certified Food Scientist (CFS) of the International Food Science Certification Commission (IFSCC), Fellow-Institute of Food Science and Technology (FIFST-UK), Fellow of The Linnaean Society of London (FLS), Professional Engineer (PEng-UK), Member of the Institute of Food Technologists (MIFT-USA), as well as Member of the International Association of Food Protection (MIAFP-USA). He underwent specialist food research training at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow-UK. He has a list of other notable credentials/honors. Currently, he is with the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Wrocław-Poland, as well as the UGA Cooperative Extension, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of Georgia Athens, GA-USA. Previously, he held research positions at institutions across continents, for example, Research Fellow at IRBIM CNR (previously known as IAMC CNR) Mazara del Vallo, Trapani-Italy. He has published an excess of 100 peer-reviewed articles in promising ISI journals. He serves as academic/guest editor to a number of journals, peer reviewer to over 25 Scopus-indexed journals, as well as recipient of scientific reviewer commendations.
