Seongcheol Kim is a Professor at the School of Media and Communication at Korea University. He received his BBA and MBA from Seoul National University in Korea. He obtained his MA in Telecommunication and his PhD in Mass Media from Michigan State University. He is the former president of the Korean Association for Information Society and Korea Media Management Association, and he is the former director of the Korea University Library. He received the Order of Merit from the President of Korea in 2018. He also received the Seoktop Research Award from Korea University 6 times, the Seoktop Teaching Award from Korea University 12 times, and the 2022 Academic Achievement Award from the Korea University Alumni Association. He is the director of the Center for ICT and Society and the director of the Smart Media Service Research Center. He is also co-editor of the Digital Business Journal and an associate editor of the Telecommunications Policy Journal. His research interests include digital business and new media.
