Dr. Benoît Ries is a research scientist, part of the SAGE team of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Luxembourg. His current research interests focus on software engineering methods and tools to model and simulate natural ecosystem restoration. A few years ago, he led the Greenware R&D axis in the students’ laboratory of the bachelor in computer science (BiCS). Under the leadership of Prof. Guelfi, he played a key role in the designing, development and successful launch of the BiCS. He taught software engineering at bachelor and master level at the University of Luxembourg and also abroad at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Innopolis University. Recently, he launched an innovative lecture related to GreenIT (and IT for Green) for master students. Since 2009, he is a permanent research scientist on projects of the LASSY laboratory in the team of Professor Nicolas Guelfi.
