She has experience in marine acoustics, hydro-acoustic surveys (multi-frequency split beam technology) and assessment of biological resources by means of acoustic methods. She deals with the evaluation of small pelagic fish resources and their spatial distribution in the Adriatic Sea and of krill in the Ross Sea (Antarctica) and with the study of their variations in relation to climate change. She is interested in the assessment of underwater noise and in acoustic and visual monitoring of marine mammals. She is also skilled in bioacoustics applied to the study of biological sonar systems of cetaceans, fishery technology, and selectivity of fishing gears.
