Dr. Carlo Ottaviani is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and York Centre for Quantum Technologies of the University of York. His research areas are in quantum information, quantum technologies, quantum-key distribution, and post-quantum cryptography. He has contributed several papers on the design of quantum-phase gates, quantum memories, and quantum repeaters, and, in the last several years, his contributions have focused on the development of quantum-key distribution with continuous variables and the study of the capacity of quantum channels. His teaching disciplines include quantum computation and information, quantum optics, information and coding theory, cryptography, and quantum and post-quantum cryptography.
