After different rolling conditions, four 7055 aluminum alloy samples with different precipitation sizes were measured by scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope and laser ultrasonic. The attenuation coefficients of ultrasound measured by laser ultrasonic were calculated in the time domain, frequency domain and wavelet denoising, respectively. The relationship between the precipitate size and attenuation coefficient was established. The results show that the attenuation of the ultrasonic wave is related to the size of the precipitated phase; this provides a new method for rapid non-destructive testing of the precipitation of aluminum alloys.
Multi-pulse nanosecond laser ablation of Ti–6Al–4V is a complex process. In this study, the effect of substrate temperature on the nanosecond laser ablation of Ti–6Al–4V was investigated. Morphology, diameter and depth of ablation craters were observed; ablation efficiency ω (μm3/mJ) was proposed to analyzes the ablation process. The results showed that, with the increasing of substrate temperature, the ablation craters’ diameter increased and depth decreased, while ω initially increased, but then decreased rapidly. Furthermore, with increasing pulse number, the depth of ablation crater increased linearly, while the growth of the diameter gradually slowed down and tended to be stable after the 16th irradiation. The above changes were different in details at different substrate temperatures.
The hollow axle is the key component of the high-speed train, and the realization of high-quality forming is the key to ensure the safety of train operation. In this paper, the specimen of the variable-diameter section of the hollow axle is taken as the research object, and the generation mechanism of surface spiral mark defects and the formula of spiral mark depth of variable-diameter section in the TRSR (three-roll skew rolling) process with variable roll spacing are explored. The external roundness error and the function C to measure the wall thickness uniformity of the cross-section were taken as the evaluation indexes and the single-factor simulation experiment was established and simulated in the software Simufact.forming16.0 to obtain the influence law of each process parameter on the external roundness error and wall thickness uniformity of the rolled piece. Orthogonal tests were designed and the order and optimal combination of process parameters on the forming quality were obtained by range analysis and ANOVA analysis. The research results provide theoretical guidance for improving the forming quality of the variable-diameter section of the hollow axle in three-roll skew rolling, and promote the transformation of the TRSR process to high performance and accurate forming.
Because the square quartz crystal is very sensitive and easily affected by the environment, it needs to be encapsulated to maintain the performance of the sensor. However, the characteristics of its encapsulation structure will change the boundary conditions of the crystal, which makes it difficult to determine the sensitivity and measurement range of the sensor. In order to solve this problem, the relationship between the force-frequency coefficient and the stiffness of the encapsulation structure is established and verified by finite element analysis, and experiments are presented in this paper. The experiment shows that the encapsulation structural stiffness and the force-frequency coefficient of the crystal are equivalent, so the design results of the encapsulation structural stiffness can be used to express the force-frequency coefficient of the sensor. In addition, SEM analysis was used to verify that the structural characteristics of the encapsulation were better when the thickness of the adhesive was thinner, and the influence of the thickness of epoxy and AuSn on the sensor performance was analyzed by FEA.
The hollow axle is the key basic component of high-speed trains. How to realize its production with short process and high-quality precision plastic forming is the frontier of current research and a major problem to be solved. On the basis of analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the existing forging process of the hollow axle, this paper expounds the principles and characteristics of multi-wedge synchrostep cross-wedge rolling (MSCWR) technology, multi-roll cross-wedge rolling (MCWR) technology, three-roll skew rolling (TRSR) technology, and tandem flexible skew rolling (TFSR) technology in detail, and discusses the feasibility and key technical problems of these technologies to form the hollow axle. It is concluded that tandem flexible skew rolling (TFSR) technology has the advantages of short process, high quality, high efficiency, energy saving, and material saving, and this technology is the development direction of precision plastic forming of the hollow axle. The research results provide technical guidance and research directions for promoting global high-speed rail development.
