Dr. Norma Carmen Gutiérrez is an attending physician in Hematology at the University Hospital of Salamanca and associate professor at the University of Salamanca. She is also the lead researcher of the Multiple Myeloma Group at the Biomedical Research Institute of Salamanca (IBSAL). Her clinical activity is dedicated to the treatment and follow-up of patients with lymphoma. In this context, she is currently principal investigator of six prospective phase 1-2 clinical trials. Her main area of research is focused on understanding the genetic basis and pathogenesis of multiple myeloma and other monoclonal gammopathies using high-performance genomic technologies and functional trials. She has 212 publications with 11261 citations and an h-index of 59 (Scopus, 2 November 2023).
